Palazzo
delle Scuole : Built in 1888 by Pietro Comini, it is located in Piazza della
Repubblica; the façade is classical in style. Today it serves as the headquarters of
the local council. Oratorio di S. Onofrio : This oratory was built in 1796 by
the Dalle Pozze family. The Neoclassical exterior features a portico supported by
four sandstone pillars, with a triangular pediment with a statue of an angel on either
side. Inside, sixteen columns support the cupola. The main altar features a portrait of
the Madonna dell'Ospedale. On the left there is a portrait of the Immaculate
Conception with the Saints.
Pieve di S. Maria : This often restored church presents the following
features: on the right wall, there is a 15th-century terracotta bas-relief attributed
to Robbiano depicting the Marriage of St. Anne and St. Joachim and a portrait
of Our Lady of the Rosary (dating from the 16th-century); in the chapel there is a
portrait of the Nativity and Adoration of the Magi, another of the Assunta by
Francesco Curradi (1570-1661), and one of the Madonna del Carmine (1511-1574).
Additionally the church offers a portrait of the Virgin Enthroned with Child attributed
to Ghirlandaio, a full-relief sculpture attributed to Robbiano, depicting the Virgin
with Child and a triptych of the Virgin Enthroned with St. Anthony the Abbot and
St. Peter.
Chiesa di S. Antonio : Restored in 1938, the interior of this church
features a single nave with four sandstone altars. On the second altar from the right
there is an example of multi-coloured terracotta pottery attributed to Robbiano depicting
the Virgin Glorified with Child, Angels and four Saints. The altar second from the
left features a portrait of the Virgin with Child and Saints (14th-century)
attributed to Giotto , and on the first altar on the right there is a canvas
showing the Crucifixion with Angel and Saint.
Frascole : This is an area where a number of archeological remains from
the Etruscan period have been uncovered, particularly around the Poggio San Martino
area. The range of items dates from the 6th-century BC to the 1st-century AD, and includes
the foundations of the Romanesque church of San Marino al Poggio, and the stone
remnants of an Etruscan building. Many of the remains are conserved in the Palazzo
Comunale in Dicomano.
Oratorio di Montedomini : This oratory was built in the 16th-century and
dedicated to the Most Holy Mary of the Annunciation. A beautiful, cypress-lined
road leads up to the oratory, which is situated at the top of a hill.
Chiesa di S. Donnino e S. Pietro a Celle : This church features a portico with
pilaster strips and a belfry. Inside there is a triptych of the Virgin Enthroned with
St. Anthony the Abbot and St. Peter.
