| Every
Saturday morning, there is a county market in the areas principle town. Every Friday
morning the same market is held in Tosi, every Thursday morning in Cascio, and every
Monday morning in Leccio. April
There is a flower show on the third weekend of the month.
June
On the last weekend of the month there is a local festival to celebrate this years
crop of dried mushrooms (funghi porcini).
July-August
Starting on the last Sunday in July and lasting through until mid-August, there is a local
craft fair and exhibition in Saltino Fras. Vallombrosa.
December
Over the first ten days there is an exhibition and opportunity to sample the local
extra-virgin olive oil from the hillsides of Pratomagno |

| Pieve
di S. Pietro a Cascia : This Romanesque parish church was built in 1073, and features
three naves and contains a triptych portraying a Virgin with Child and four
Saints attributed to Masaccio. Abbazia di Vallombrosa : This abbey was
constructed in the middle of a forest in the year 1036 by San Giovanni Gualberto and
since 1973 has been a Biogenetic Nature Reserve. Restored on multiple occasions, it
has a 13th-Century bell tower and an interesting 18th-Century façade. Aside from a
reliquary from the 16th-Century, the abbey also houses a tablet by Raffaellino del
Garbo.
Pieve di S. Pietro a
Pitiana : This parish church dates from the 12th-Century.
It is olive oil with has sustained this area since time
immemorial, and even today oil is cold-pressed using the local mill. The oil that is
produced has had its origins and purity officially recognised, and as such carries the DOC
(Controlled denomination of origin) appellation. The same appellation has been given to
the local wine. |
